NPO Radio 4 is a public radio station in the Netherlands, owned and operated by NPO, the Dutch public broadcasting organization. NPO Radio 4 was launched in 1947 as the first public radio station in the Netherlands. It was initially known as the Dutch Radio Broadcasting Service (Nederlandse Radio Omroep Stichting, or NROS). The station has since become a major source of classical music in the Netherlands, with a wide range of programming from Baroque to contemporary music. It also broadcasts news and current affairs programming, including interviews, debates, and documentaries.
